Well, it took me over two years to figure out which way I wanted to go as far as my website and blog. Well, the day has finally come and I know EXACTLY which way I want to go with them both…I think. :-)

I have changed to a website that is more clean and can be easily viewed on smart phones and iphones. Modern technology has taken off and I don’t want to get left behind. :-) I’ve chosen darker colors this time to help accentuate my photos. I find that I lean heavily toward black & white photos. The darker colors really make those pop out and not have to compete with lots of colors and designs. Simple and sleek.

Anyway, enjoy and thanks for visiting me. Thanks for not forgetting that I was here. You’ll be hearing more from me now that I’m actually happy with the route I have now taken.

Oh, and I was a passenger on my way to the Memphis Zoo when I took the above photo. You didn’t really think I took that while driving, did you? LOL

It’s Been Way Too Long

Yeah, what the title said. It has been way too long since my last post here. Most of you know that 2008 was a very stressful year for my family and I (My mother becoming ill and passing away in May and my 13 y/o daughter being diagnosed with an incurable cancer in Dec. Check out my daughter’s current health status HERE.).

Now that things have seemingly turned for the better, I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph this family. They are a repeat client. I actually photographed their wedding in 2007. It was very refreshing to not only get back out there and work again, but also to be able to work with a great family once again. I hope that this will not be the last time I see them. :-)

I’m hoping that I will be able to post here more often. In order for me to post more I have to have more photos to take (hint hint hint). lol Maybe I should have a contest for a freebie session with discounted portraits. Or maybe I could use some of  you to simply model for my blog. Hmmmm… I’ll have to think of something fun.

Oh yeah, for those of you that were just cruising by and thought you’d stop, be sure to add me as a friend on your Facebook and Twitter accounts. If I decide to give away any freebies you’ll know about it on those two places first. Be sure to leave a note that you’ve added me as a friend. I just may be inclined to offer something special to those that add me. Hmmmm… :-D

You can also sign up for my occasional newsletter. Sign up form is to the right of this post.  There are times I may offer portrait goodies only to those that are subscribers to the newsletter. Nothing like getting free stuff. :-)

So, let’s get back on track and start with updating your portraits!

Well, we create portraits of each other. What else? hahahaha This past Saturday there were a few local (Collierville, Bartlett, Memphis, Olive Branch, etc) photogs that got together to create headshots using different lighting set ups. It was very interesting. I had a great time. Got to meet a couple of new photogs that I had not met before from our Memphis Photographers Group. Here are a couple of mine. The first I attempted to create the “halo” effect with limited lights to use. Had one light directly behind my subject and I had her to sit next to a glass door, which is to her right. Add another photog to hold a fan and voila! We created a headshot that even Fabio would love!

The rest of these are ones where I only used one key light to create the shot. One key light and one reflector or one light coming from a glass window/door.
